Ralph and Dorothy Gibson papers [manuscript]. 1912-1989.

Correspondence, drafts of articles, notes, diaries, speeches, photographs, newspaper cuttings, pamphlets and other papers. The papers relate in particular to Ralph Gibson's life in England as a student in 1927-31, later overseas trips, the peace movement in Australia in the 1930s, the Australian-Soviet Friendship League 1942-46, a projected work on the struggle of ideas in the 1960s, the Oakleigh and Malvern branches of the Communist Party of Australia, and the publication of Gibson's books. Dorothy Gibson's papers include letters written in the Soviet Union in 1933-35, diaries and notebooks kept on overseas trips, and political writings and talks. Correspondents include W. Brown, W. Gollan, L. Aarons, L. Churchward, J. Blake, L. Fox, Myra Roper and Stephen Murray-Smith.

Ralph Gibson (1906-1989) and Dorothy Gibson (1899-1978) were active members of the communist Party of Australia from the 1930s until their deaths.
